Catherine will also be hosting a masterclass the following Sunday, 18th Nov, in the Ulster College of Music, Windsor Avenue, Belfast. Two workshops will be available to attend:
- 11am-1pm – How to go about learning a classical piece, using a Sor study as an example, which can be freely downloaded here.
- 2.30-4.30pm – A similar session to the one in the morning only using Leo Brouwer’s Simple Study No. 5. This piece can’t be distributed here but copies will be available on the day.
Prior knowledge of these pieces is not essential as Catherine will be working from first principles. You are welcome to attend either session, or both, and Catherine has a lot of experience working with pupils of all ages and abilities!
